A.  All substances exempt from the Swiss and international transport requirements are transported by the Swiss Post (see exemptions).

Exception: vertebrate animals, regardless of whether genetically modified or not, are not transported by the Swiss Post.

B.  The following substances containing or consisting of pathogenic or genetically modified (micro)organisms falling under the Swiss or international transport requirements are transported by the Swiss Post within Switzerland:

Human pathogens and zoonotic agents:

• Patient specimens of Category A human pathogens and zoonotic agents (P650) marked with "culture only" in the Category A list ADR 2.2.62.1.4.1
• Category B infectious substances (P650), cultures and patient specimens of Category B human pathogens and zoonotic agents (P650)
• Non-vertebrate animals infected with human pathogens and zoonotic agents (P650)

Animal pathogens:

• Specimens of Category A animal pathogens (P650) marked with ‘culture only’ in the Category A list ADR 2.2.62.1.4.1
• Category B infectious substances (P650), cultures and patient specimens of Category B animal pathogens (P650)
• Non-vertebrate animals infected with pathogens (P650)

Plant pathogens:

• Cultures of plant pathogens (no UN number)
• Plants and plant parts infected with plant pathogens (no UN number)
• Seeds infected with plant pathogens (no UN number)
